Performing a two-hour Concert for a bunch of friends and music lovers is not climbing Mount Everest. Its nothing like competing in a formula one car-race. But it’s always been the safe, and warm place, where I validate my art. To this end I am announcing my return to work. I have decided not to retire, and like so many other older Musicians, we all know Who, I am performing a night of Barry songs and stories.
The theme is simple, to Celebrate, ‘Blue Sky’, my first LP, and its recent 50th anniversary. Yes, I am returning to ‘THE ROUNDHOUSE’ to share my music and joy, with you and yours. I will share the history of; recording ‘Blue Sky’; signing an International record deal with RCA; and going to school to learn from the best Studio Players available on the Planet. ‘The Perfect Storm’ for me. The set will feature a bunch of songs from the LP, some never visited live until this evening’s concert.
To commemorate this 50th anniversary milestone , ‘The Museum of Canadian Music’ added my LP ‘Blue Sky’. The Museum announced, ‘Barry Greenfield’s 1973 'Blue Sky', is one of the best Canadian albums ever recorded.
